Growth Spurt

 If you see me

I've come up short

I have some short comings

I'm short changed in the height department

I had to visit a growth expert

Because I wasn't having a growth spurt

He said you measure up son

You're as broad as you're wide

The birth canal took you for a ride

The grave will open up

On the other side

The other side of what I asked

But he laughed

I might have cried

You mean to say the After life

why did nobody tell you , they all lied?

Yes I thought that

This was it

That I am not as I will quit

That birth and death and chiefly mischief

Were to be

my contentious brothers until I died

No, no said he you have more to go

A whole other world

At the end of the rain bow

From mind the gap,

To off the map

From here to there in

A bear skin suit

What ill-pursuit

No quite hirsuit

Your birthday suit

But whose celebrating?

Only the celebrants

Only the stars
