Zombie

 I was dragging my feet

And I had to repeat

All the roads by which I'd come by

That direction of yours

With the closed doors

Boy did I feel like a dumb guy

What is wrong they all said

But I was half dead

I said, can't you tell I'm a Zombie

But then I had to be fed

So I bit off a head

And now that is how I made thumb pie

Well I was dragging my feet

Right down the street

Near the place I was born by

But I had to be sure

So I knocked on the door

And discovered that it was my mum Di

Before the flood

I can't wait for the flood

My mind is so cluttered

Like a drainpipe that's spluttered

I'm muttering things

I can't begin or end

I need a friend or a win

But I've only got sin

And I need a purge

From God's lavatory

I need to be flushed out

Of this purgatory

It's a water closet held above my head

I know someone will pull the chain

Dead ringers in the land of the dead

We're all Zombies here

We're all walking around

Like some fungus

Has affected our brains

Oh for the rains

To wash us clean

Zombie Farmer's Market

I'm at the Zombie farmers market

And they're all selling pickled brains

Brains in glasses darkened

Like looking down a darkened lane

Gherkins of amygdalas

Wishbone corpus callosums

Thin films of the meninges

Hanging like dried vellum

All the riddled, addled roots

All the winding passages

All the folds so manifold

Look like pale moon sausages

Oh so mouth watering

Such victual prospects make them slaver

And along the saliva soaked pavements

The Zombie Farmers gather

Ooh Ahh and lookie 'ere

And I'll 'ave ee one of 'ee pickled brain chutneys

Give me a swallow of a skull not hollow

I'll drink down the fluids, bloods and the discharge

It all looks so horrid, yellow green spew rancid

Butter wouldn't melt in their throat if they had one

But what surprises me most is how restrained they all are

That's how you know they were or are the landed gentry

It's all in the breeding you see

This Zombie life is Country Life magazine

With one shotgun slung

Nonchalantly over an arm

And a bloodhound at his knee

A beagle at baye, bugler in the hay

And the Irony is the Zombie Farmers

They don't even look grey

A bit wet round the gills maybe

Some a bit yellow say

Jaundiced probably lacking in Iron

Some of them missing a liver

But The Lord gives and he takes away they say

Any way He does on Zombie Farmer's Market day

Zombie farmers

 Zombie farmers, zombie farmers

Come down from your fields

The tractors are ploughing

And you must make your meals

Zombie farmers, zombie farmers

What is it you sell?

Is it brains in glass jars

Or is it visions of hell?

I can see you at the market

Zombie farmers of Wells

Oh you would think they could park it

But your range Rover smells

Of all the brains you've been growing

In your poly tunnels

Well if you come to shepton mallet

You'll find our brains ring like bells

Inside of our heads

Where the spring flowers grow

And we all eat your crops

Though it gives us food for thought

You know

If you ever want my brain

I don't use it a bunch

You can borrow it this weekend

If you invite me for lunch

Ecstatic Dance

I met a dragon in the attic

It was dancing there

The DJ's tunes were ecstatic

And so she stomped her lair

And then she tuned to jungle magic

And wild became the air

The bears began their bearing

The horses began to bray

The dogs began their howling

And the beasts came out to play

I met a dragon in the attic

Dancing in her lair

The floorboards creaked

Like a boxer's canvas

As if with fighter's sweat they wreaked

And pounded feet

and punched the air

Though not a single one once speaked

Some were slow reptilian,

Others like burrowing moles

Some winged hawks dancing

Raising up their souls

And my sap was rising too

As the dead began to live

And the Zombies of the grave so tragic

New life the music began to give

Skeletons they swayed their hip bones

Whales wiggled from toes to thighs

Dinosaurs as old as chipped stones

Wailed out their prehistoric cries

And St Mark's Hall became a dancefloor

For the fireflies who burned and sparked more

In the scintillating darkness of closed eyes

Then like dazzled larks flew flashing up into new open skies

As the churches rang their bells out

For Easter Sunday they chimed

We too rose from our crypt tombs

Dancing dragons thrice crow-timed

And our spirits left our bodies

And our heads did belly dives

When the doors to hell flung open

And we were free to live our lives

Zombie Dinosaur

Don't you come back from the dead

You fossil stay down

Where you have your bed

Don't come back from the forest floor

Zombie Dinosaur

Yes I know you were buried in the mud

And the silt it covered your skin

And your flesh was frozen turned to stone

And your body was placed in the bin

But there is still some spirit from long ago

That fester way down in the swamps

Where mini monsters eat themselves

And rise up like jellified lumps

If you were me then what would you say?

Oh uhhuh come back and have fun

But No my friend Zombie Dinosaur

Down there is your home, the only one

We don't want you to walk the streets and pester

The good human beings

Although we're having trouble now

It's a bubble now a sacred cow

And it will burst as soon as life moves on

But I am a Zombie Dinosaur I need life

And sustenance

Don't bar me from my second coming

On this sweet earth, you know I once was number one

But the world moves on my friend with jaws

My many betoothed beastie

And you don't simply come rampaging

Helping yourself everytime you get a little feasty

Don't lock me out, don't shut me down

Block me or deny me

My day will come when I'm in the sun

And none shall supervise me

I shall be free to skip in the fields

And dance and play and come

Back over the barrows

Of the dead elves

And leave the dwarves to the shadows

First time/Last time

I tried it first time, since an hour ago, first time

Since an hour ago

First time since I let you go

Oh first time since I walked on the moon

First time since I came back too soon

I loved you first time, oh but did you love me too?

I loved you first time I saw you in the bar

First time with your arms around that jar

First time, but was it the first time you got into my car

First time since the time before

First time and since then I loved you even more

First time

First time drilling for your heart in the room

First time I asked if I could borrow your broom

First time I watched her move in your womb

First time I saw a baby born on zoom

First time a zombie president won a district of doom

First time for me, but was it your first time too?

First time I got an electric shock

First time the floor boards knock

First time since I looked at the clock

It was my first time I turned my key in your lock

But was it your first time oh my lover my friend

Now I'm so sad this is the first time it must end

Last time I bit my lip on the spoon

Last time I walked in while you were starting to swoon

In no time did I hear the cock croon

It was the last time for him, was it your last time too?

Last time I knew just what to do

Last time I noticed you doing it too

Last time we were both breathing on cue

But it was nil point to the monkey

And nil point to the zoo

Last time I stuck my hand in my wallet

When I pulled it out it was like it had come from swallet

And I don't know if you knew about it too?

Was it the first time for me, the last time for you?

Sway

He used her up
Drank her cup
Now she’s a dried up vessel
One vein too blue
One more cell to chew
He ate her brain, who knew

But now she is free
And he, he
He is the Zombie father
The step in the grain
That makes the plane
Jump when we shave the wood farther

He, he is the bitter root
Of rivalry
That keeps the bitter lemon tree
Growing
That leaves all grandmothers
Sucking lemons
Selling eggs and bacons
That leaves the chickens in the gardens
And the cold wind that hardens
The apples that sway
She sees them like she did
When she was a child
And he is her father who has broken his promises
And let the butterflies out of her enclosure
Like kissing lips
They part and fly away
