Windowless day

 Little bit of rain

Little of wind

Shaking the stems

Moving the strings

Playing the tunes on the violin

Crickets rubbing legs

Trunks entwined twisting

Whistling and creaking

And Praising like a shaker

Devout in wind bowing

Bouquet of flowers bending

Breaking the bough

The whole howling orchestra knowing

Conducting these instruments of woodwind blowing

Clarinet of lime, bassoon of bowling ash

Proud deep oboe of pine

Brass tacks failing

As the barbed wire fence is plucked out

The catastrophic beat of the Oak drums thump

As they fall in the fields

Where the rain is hurled

Like sweeping bows that dart

Back and forth as tiny fish in a pool

The Rain and the Wind

Oh the rain came down
Like jewels on a crown
Of the land that refused to be
Reigned on
and its belief systems shocked
Like a baby that was rocked
In the cradle of civilization
It was feigned on

And sallow creatures lie
In river beds that cry
Of armies who have marched across plains
When the rains fell on them
It was like a long lost friend
That they embraced
And were gone in dreaming

You can hold the whole world
Inside a paper cup
And drink it til it dries
Until you might give up
But who will run out first
It is not for me to say
All I know is you can try it on for size

The love that I recall
Hardly stands up against the wall
The jokes that I tell
As the fall guy
Well the joke was on me
I was too blind to see
All of the things people were telling me
And you can show it still
With the tickets and the bills
The size of the debt I am owing
But it means nothing's past
Nor lost behind the glass
For the rain falls and the wind keeps
Blowing

In the rain

I don't wanna paint my house no more
Go inside and lock the door
In the rain, in the rain
I don't wanna clean the balcony
I don't wanna dust the floor
Go inside and lock the door

In the rain, in the rain
I've got no time to mop the Windows
I've no time to sweep the walls
The leaves will fall in autumn
Even the crows will crow
Just take a stand for freedom
Soon her light won't show
In the rain, in the rain

I don't wanna fly my country's flag
I don't wanna flock the sheep
I've got two pence that's worth stealing
But what they steal is my sleep
I don't wanna shake the drain pipe
I don't wanna sniff the tree
Everything worth fighting for
Is worth the weight of freedom's key
Let me alone this day I stay inside
And lock the door
In the rain, in the rain
