Tinker

My name is Tinker

I live on the ground floor

I live downstairs from you

Yes, I think you’ve seen me before

If you hear something in the day

Some kind of barking, some kind of bay

Just don't ask me what it was

Just don't ask me what it was

Just don't ask me what it was

I think it's because I'm a black dog

That they made me bark so loud

They wanted me to fight wild hogs

Just so I could please the crowd

They only tease you until you bark

After that you're afraid of the dark

You just aren't friendly anymore

You just aren't friendly anymore

You just aren't friendly anymore

Yes I think it's a nice day

I'm going for a walk again

If you ask Becky that's what she'll say

And she's my friend now and always

I guess I like it when we are alone

With nice words spoken, and a juicy bone

Just don't ask me what’s the plan?

Becky says we’re moving to Ilfracombe

Just know we’re going to the sea and sand

My name is Tinker

Now I live on the first floor

I live upstairs from you

Yes, I think you've seen me before

If you hear something in the day

Some kind of laughter, some kind of play

Just know that I'm happy now

Just know that I'm happy now

Just know that I'm happy now

Yes, I think I’m happy now

I walked along the shore again

If you ask Becky, that’s what she’ll say

And life’s good in Ilfracombe all the way

Now they only please me when they pass

And I can go run in the sea and play at last

Now we'll just be happy forevermore

Now we'll just be happy forevermore

Now we'll just be happy forevermore

Ghost dog

 Ghost Dog in the castle

Ghost dog in the park

Ghost dog chase the parcel

Of the postman in the dark

Once he was a real dog

But he died a death

Barking in the bedstead

Barking was his breath

Barking was his bread

But poor black dog

Barked but didn't bite

All the bravery went out with the fight

Killing was not in his nature

He preferred to lie on furniture

Laying like a lazy lad

La Dee da Lady Dog boy

Now he is a ghost dog

Walking round the park

Chasing after sticks his owner

Fails to throw

Walking round the perimeter

guarding the house

Barking of a ghost dog

Barking in the dark

Echo of the Ghost dog

Echo of a life

Barking, barking ghost dog

Don't it cut you like a knife

Dogma

  I was dogmatic

As I attacked the attic

With my dog and bone

Rang static, through heaving clouds

Of coulds and shoulds

Of which I must atone

And pile drove my piles of paperwork

Down to the factory run by berserks

Who swab and test me like a dog

I cry down boy to the nurse

But she doesn't hear

My dog-eared cries

And yet like a family sized box

Of varieties, I sort of take a dog leg

Into doggerel like a mongrel

Fawning, forced from my race against

The clock, by the fox

And release the dogs of war

Because it is a dog fight out there

Or so they say on Albert Square

And what do I know?

I'm just a dog who sits

In front of a box

And waits for air

To remind me its time for a walk

Do the 'walk the dog' dance in the park

Doggie style, no that's something else

I'm thinking of a dog collar I have to wear

The commissioner? No the Bishop? Yeah

And the actress, you know the one

From Lady and the tramp

And the dog training camp

Bad bitches or some kind of ramp

That they racked up to a fever pitch

And I'm too strewn in strudels

From a sky full of smorgasbords

To care, because

It's raining cats and dogs

You guessed it folks he's here

Your one and only Disney character

Dog cartoon Pluto

And then you say - but he wasn't a dog was he?

Yeah, true blue, down to his last inch

He took it by a hair's breadth to win

The competition at Crufts

Well hair of the dog you say

Yes.. well who am I to argue with

A contradiction?

The fact that all these dogs seem to understand

Nowadays, is how to roll over, fetch, be a good boy

But nobody is saving Joan of Arc,

None of them are running into the flames of

A burning building to rescue poor little Jimmy

No they've not been trained that way,

Even if their instinct is to rescue little Timmy

Then their training says otherwise

Be afraid, be very afraid when poodle grooming

Becomes prime time television viewing

You know either something is seriously wrong

With society or we are in a pandemic and lock down

Or both

Who let the dogs out?

I ask myself again and again, but after listening

To the song on repeat I am still unable to solve

That profound mystery

Dog-darn it

Animus

We live in the age of the dog

We own them, Not to talk

To each other but to say

Keep your distance

they bark for us, they are our voices

That we cannot express ourselves

God soon it will be the age of the wolf

Howling at the moon light

Of unrequited love and dreams

In the past it was the age of the Mammoth

We would walk them, Walk with them side by side

They were silent

But knee and kept our secrets

We were the howling men and women

They the serene beings

The elephants of our collective memories

We killed

They had no voice, and no choice

But when we killed all the silent singing beings

We too lost our voices

We lost our ability to communicate through

The silent thread of mutual understanding

Like the whales in song

We bred dogs,

Tamed wolves to be dogs,

Tamed dogs to be humans

And in doing so forgot our animal selves

But also gave our souls to the dogs

Becoming dogmatic

And no longer Mammotic

Magma, Dogma, Mama Dog

 I guess it wasn't enough

You tried to paper over the living

Crust

But it was always changing

Pulled by the heart's core

The magma of our blood

Kept coming up for more

Oh is the world enough?

It isn't

For this love to never leave us alone

Like a wound

That will never heal

Like the cut in the mouth

You tried to paper over the crust of the earth

With your newspaper headlines

Shouting what it is worth

Or what it is not,

This is love, and the world

isn't enough

Real time Alsatian Support

 Real time Alsatian support

Alsatian on telephones ready to answer any of your question

So why not use your dog and bone and give them a phone?

Sometimes it can be hard to talk to a chat bot, but even harder with a real human being, so why not try an Alsatian?

Many of our Alsatians are fully trained operators and only very few are unlicensed rogues so come on get dialing....
