Hold you

 I didn't know, I don't know, believe me

And I know I didn't know your name

When you walked you thought that I was leavin

And I know you thought it was the same

But I hear you come along and keep me

Just to keep me holding on the same

I thought, I thought that I wasn't

I loved, I loved you just the same

And I more or less held you into my breast

But for you I'd hold you just the same

I thought that I was leavin

And I thought that it was full of rain

What you hold in your hands for keepin

With you, I hold you just same

Just the same, I hold you just the same

I thought that you were just for keepin

And I held you in life's game

Then you turned the candle on the table

And you told me just write down your name

And I told you now that's for keepin

And you said I hold you just the same

And I had no one to reject me

And I had nothing of to complain

But when you told me you respect me

Well I knew I'd hold you just the same

And I know there's nothing left for wondering

And I walk in flowers on the plain

And the pieces of the sand castle are crumbling

And fallin in down in the showers of rain

Oh some day I can hold you with me

Some days I know its just the same

And as I wander into heaven's keepin

Well I know I'll hold you just the same
