Vicious wishes

Oh the steady stead of progress

Oh the lies of all the

Back biting dirty handed grease

Chopping the choppy ocean

Peppering the peptide brain

With kisses of devotion

Like in the silence of the grain

Fields of night in stars

Where the starlings feed

And missing you in motor cars

Scars across motorways

Across the desert landscape

We set off and face

The harshest of the hurricanes

All forgiveness jeopardy

of the hunting leopard too

Large in lioness adversity

To become a beauty

Yet spotted in vigilante vigils

Of a society of cheetahs

And well-wishers

Viciousness of wishing wells

I nearly broke my back

Looking into

The taste of cold wet pennies

And the blackness

Looking in the well

For the stars

You were there also mother Mary

Evangelist

Archangel Michael's list

Of those he deems a demon

And will strike down with his sword

And I on the roof

Tied to the chimney

On look out for Santa Clause

But all I found was my father

Signalling a beacon

Looking for the signs above

On when and how to leave us

In a gentle departure

Like is Christmas in all

Its ever-diminishing evolutions

Until all we have are national holidays

To believe in

Staring down the well

And looking for the stars

And carving out our names in

The setting cement of mortar

Like engravings on a gravestone

In a cemetery

Who would throw stones

At glass houses

If they knew what promises

Could be broken

And quite how vicious

All our wishes are

Little Egret of Great Worth

 little egrets of great wealth

Come to me in your hour of health

And stick it to the stickman

Who walks in the straw bale caravan

Stick it to the heron

And the heroes and the heroines

Stick it to the starving starlings

And the burbling blackbirds

Little Egrets of great worth

Come to see the garden's mirth

And play upon the fretted field

Das spiegel und das miele

Find the shark, and shore your teeth

Little Egrets of harsh relief

Sable stable upon the grief

Silhouette statue chief

Little egret prayer's belief

For the cutted diamond studded reef

Camelot two

I came a lot to see you

I came a lot I did

But that was before I bid you

Good night and slid

Slid a away like a snake

And hid beneath a dustbin lid

But before I came a lot to see you

When the sun shone where we hid

I need a lot to see you

I need it a lot I do

I wish I could be near you

Not caged inside this zoo

With all the other animals

Who knew you, I but was

A pet to you

For I came a lot to see you

Before they locked me up here too

Dinosaurs

 D When you're young

F Dinosaurs mean a lot to you

D When you're young

D yes when you're young

F Dinosaurs mean C a lot to you G

When you're old

Yes when you're old

You're like a dinosaur in a zoo

When you're old

Yes when you're old

You're like a dinosaur in a zoo

Maybe that's why

When you're young

Dinosaurs mean so much to you

When you're young

Yes when you're young

You do what you want to

When you're old

Yes when you're old

You do what you want to

So I want to be a dinosaur

Roaming around with you

Because that's

The best thing to be

That I can think of for me

And for you

Camelot

I met a knight upon the road

He said he was looking for buried gold

But buried near or buried far

He could not tell, he was following a star

And it told him left or right

When to duck and when to fight

Around each corner, tract or Spinney

He rode his mare and she did whinney

At the appalling gusts of wind

That blew in his face and thinned

The locks he grew when he was young

But though he grew old, this knight was strong

Ever searching for where he did belong

A landscape of the Avalon

I met a knight upon the road

In his search for Camelot

We crossed paths and he shone

As a light of knowledge gone

From our world of busy men

As heaven holds

Her head a loft

And blesses in Sun the Castle Camelot

Arise Sir Knight and see through soft mists

Your lady rise from the lake as gift

Of giving life, and love and water

For the thirsty knight, in search of

a King's daughter

A princess whom the pure of heart shall find

But always searching for a love to bind

I left him there, and he shot an arrow

It passed through forests and cliff gaps narrow

It sailed out to the restless sea

And there it left its mark on me

Freedom's train

I travelled on a train heading west

Through the country that I loved the best

Every city we seemed to pass

the lights went out like the last

It was all same on the train

Oh liberty was its name

So come on and get on board

This train carries rich and poor

You don't even need to know its name

Just wait on on the platform for Freedom's train

I'm looking out of the window

And the country is falling into shadow

The carriage light is all that remains

Shining across the land like a flame

And in each city the same story's told

Of the fight for land, glory and gold

And the frontiers have always changed

But you can travel to the coast

And see the sea and drink your toast

To a land whose face you've rearranged

Everybody is trying to win

What they felt they'd lost to begin

But nobody can hear the spirit sing

And if this train can ring a bell

And people can walk free from hell

Then let's hear the whistle blow once again

For it's time to get on board the liberty train

Yes, this train is leaving soon

It's got to travel by the moon

Because the restless riders don't want it to stop

In case the bandits try and hold it up

If you see freedom in the light of day

You may wish this train would stay

But this train keeps rolling right on through

Freedom is it's name, Freedom for me and you

The disappearing democracy blues

All the houses of the high and mighty

Have fallen down like dominos

The diamonds glitter in the clubs

While with golden spades their fields are dug

And the hearts and minds have faded like a dream

Oh Wish I knew America,

and that when it looked into a mirror

It wasn't only vanity and greed that could be seen

But I'm afraid that humanity and Christianity

Have been replaced by fear and an idiocy

That threatens the fabric of democracy

And leave a lunatic king to order executioner's insanity

While civil war beckons within the American dream

So I sit at the card table,

the one where Eve loved Cain and Abel

But After Cain had cut the deck,

he used a knife and slit Abel's neck

And reshuffled all the hearts and clubs,

he slipped in a Joker to distract the judge

Then behind the smoke and mirrors smudged

the constitution written on the walls

And then he whitewashed the white house halls,

painted them in blood

Like in hellish balls,

while Noah and his animals waited for the flood

So I wish to see America,

one more time before she disappears

And liberty's statue falls into the sea,

behind three monkeys closing their mouths, their eyes and ears

Yes I wish to see America, where is she?

I can't see her through my tears

All that I loved about her in the Eighties

when I was growing up she was changing through the years

But it's not that I have changed and she has remained the same,

It's just I have the disappearing democracy fears

So Good Night to you America

I hope tomorrow the world will not seem so dark

Because today you snuffed out the torch of liberty

And with it you have killed a big piece of my heart

So Good Night to you America,

Don't take down the flag that once you flew

Over a world where we looked to you like a symbol

For tonight you've got the disappearing democracy blues
