Zombie Dinosaur

Don't you come back from the dead

You fossil stay down

Where you have your bed

Don't come back from the forest floor

Zombie Dinosaur

Yes I know you were buried in the mud

And the silt it covered your skin

And your flesh was frozen turned to stone

And your body was placed in the bin

But there is still some spirit from long ago

That fester way down in the swamps

Where mini monsters eat themselves

And rise up like jellified lumps

If you were me then what would you say?

Oh uhhuh come back and have fun

But No my friend Zombie Dinosaur

Down there is your home, the only one

We don't want you to walk the streets and pester

The good human beings

Although we're having trouble now

It's a bubble now a sacred cow

And it will burst as soon as life moves on

But I am a Zombie Dinosaur I need life

And sustenance

Don't bar me from my second coming

On this sweet earth, you know I once was number one

But the world moves on my friend with jaws

My many betoothed beastie

And you don't simply come rampaging

Helping yourself everytime you get a little feasty

Don't lock me out, don't shut me down

Block me or deny me

My day will come when I'm in the sun

And none shall supervise me

I shall be free to skip in the fields

And dance and play and come

Back over the barrows

Of the dead elves

And leave the dwarves to the shadows

Blue bird

All of these things that you say to me
I think they're blue but you say they're free
I walk the forests and see the tree
I think they're blue but you say they're free

I walk out among the parks
where the dogs bark
When it gets dark
And fall to my knees when I see the spark
A forest ablaze
A freedom lark
I hear him sing,
he says to me
I think it's blue
But you say I'm free

All alone in the Ark

 Where is that Angel tonight

I'm praying with all of my might

The begging woman in the car park

Getting change for a space, making space for change

The junky walks across the graveyard

And pain swings low down in his chariot

You are hurting me

He says

You are hurting me

As you touch my face

And the dark eyed loser

retraces his steps

All alone in Noah's Ark

All alone in the park

All alone in the dark

As the animals play

In the forests of the world

And the cuckoo calls

From the olive tree

And I am like a dove

With my mouth full of dry branches

The night flashes

And the thunder crashes

And the fishes play with the sharks

The horses neigh, and the chickens lay

And Noah is all alone in the Ark

Oh you can hear the world turning

And see the ships on the sea

You can find out all that you're learning

Should be no kind of big mystery

But the cuckoo still calls in the tree

And the dogs run free in the park

As junkies are stoned, and Noah's still alone

Yes he's still all alone in his Ark

And am I an animal

He says

Is my soul a hole in the dark

Do I shun the contact

Who will light the spark?

Is my soul an animal

Away from human hark

Have I become the pairless bird

Who stands aboard the Ark?

Trouble

Trouble is a two legged word

It starts at the beginning

and

Never ends

Haven't you heard

You'd better keep your head down

Else you'll be the one who's hurled

Head long into a tornedo

Of things you never meant

Except you told the world

Chalk and cheese

Cheese and chalk

Are survivors

After the last ice age

Of the glaciers

Who lick their tongues

Spread their seed

Sew their forests

Pick their weed

Oh Trouble is a two legged beast

Train

While travelling on a train going south
I fell asleep and a fly flew into my mouth
You were travelling in the opposite direction
I needed a map for my soul’s resurrection
We both said good bye
To the man in the sky
Both let go of our lover
There’s one thing I know
When you’ve got to go
You’ve got nowhere to run for cover

I was travelling deep in the corners of the country
Right into the pockets of the wild
I found in there a stone so polished like a bone
And I thought of when I was a child

Somethings look different the more you look at them
Somethings don’t ever change
The reasons for our break up
May have been bound in chains
But I can’t keep freeing us again and again

I am breaking loose of the noose
Around my neck, I am felling the tallest tree in the garden
I have to let others grow
Have the chance to get to know other flowers
Other trees
before the love in me hardens

I’ve been walking in these shanty towns
Like some city fool
Lost with my head cast down
A failure in Love’s school
Just some kind of wandering clown
Pulling faces at the pool
Hearing voices put me down
While others draw me up a stool

Budapest Hotel

 The dumb bells spoke

And the fires smoke

The travelling salesman

Told another joke

About the poor folk

And the rich folk as well

But he can't tell you nothing

Except what's good to sell

The Arabian knights

They charged in ten thousand

To the top of the hill

Where the dunes golden sand

Glistened and sparkled

And listened like the stars

But they only spoke silence

Like the surface of Mars

And somethings stand

While other things fall

I thought the hotel was grand

Until I saw the holes in the wall

From the bullets that were fired

When the communists came

Well they never said nothing

Except nothing does change

Choices

There are fires that are burning

In little homesteads churning

Out the milk

And fraught and fought

With the captain from the fort

But he just won't let them go

Along the paths of gravel

Where they travel through four feet of snow

And I should have guessed

What a mess it all would show

After I abandoned the best

That the country had let go

And yet we each must pass the test

Of the coal black crow

Who chooses life and death

From her branch throne of hedgerow
