The sky's the limit

Only two planes today will take off

The sky is the limit

Well the covid runway is a quiet affair

There are no lorries or trucks anywhere

The staff are being furloughed

And a grey cloud lies there

Over their future employment

But the sky is the limit

Well what is the limit?

How much more can we take of it

When there seems no end to this

Dreadful COVID

There is a vaccine that's been developed

In a Lab

But it's a shot in the dark, still let's take a stab

There is a purpose to all of this drivel init?!

Well why do I drone on when the sky is the limit!

Everything was shut in the departures

Except a WH Smiths and a Cafe

Covid vs Ovid

Ok what ever happened to Ovid at the age of 19? he seems to be largely forgotten in the current state of emergency for understandable reasons.

What did Ovid have to say about COvid and other acts of god or nature?

I ask the questions I know you want answering, like never mind covid 19, but what was Ovid doing at aged 19?

Through the darkness the light will shine

Well Helen, I don't know where your light is

But I think you have a light that is

Brighter than mine

Covid cardiff

And you think your shit smells better than mine

The car stooled

The alarm bells rung

The words Gastro-enteritis were yet to be sung

I call COVID

Then I thought C-diff

But what's the difference

What's it matter when you hear

Your swan song sung?

The body is a truth teller

Or it's a body of lies

But Your mind is where it matters

And when that's got crossed eyes

It doesn't matter what your body says

You'll listen to the others

Who would think they were better than you

And their own mothers

Dogma

  I was dogmatic

As I attacked the attic

With my dog and bone

Rang static, through heaving clouds

Of coulds and shoulds

Of which I must atone

And pile drove my piles of paperwork

Down to the factory run by berserks

Who swab and test me like a dog

I cry down boy to the nurse

But she doesn't hear

My dog-eared cries

And yet like a family sized box

Of varieties, I sort of take a dog leg

Into doggerel like a mongrel

Fawning, forced from my race against

The clock, by the fox

And release the dogs of war

Because it is a dog fight out there

Or so they say on Albert Square

And what do I know?

I'm just a dog who sits

In front of a box

And waits for air

To remind me its time for a walk

Do the 'walk the dog' dance in the park

Doggie style, no that's something else

I'm thinking of a dog collar I have to wear

The commissioner? No the Bishop? Yeah

And the actress, you know the one

From Lady and the tramp

And the dog training camp

Bad bitches or some kind of ramp

That they racked up to a fever pitch

And I'm too strewn in strudels

From a sky full of smorgasbords

To care, because

It's raining cats and dogs

You guessed it folks he's here

Your one and only Disney character

Dog cartoon Pluto

And then you say - but he wasn't a dog was he?

Yeah, true blue, down to his last inch

He took it by a hair's breadth to win

The competition at Crufts

Well hair of the dog you say

Yes.. well who am I to argue with

A contradiction?

The fact that all these dogs seem to understand

Nowadays, is how to roll over, fetch, be a good boy

But nobody is saving Joan of Arc,

None of them are running into the flames of

A burning building to rescue poor little Jimmy

No they've not been trained that way,

Even if their instinct is to rescue little Timmy

Then their training says otherwise

Be afraid, be very afraid when poodle grooming

Becomes prime time television viewing

You know either something is seriously wrong

With society or we are in a pandemic and lock down

Or both

Who let the dogs out?

I ask myself again and again, but after listening

To the song on repeat I am still unable to solve

That profound mystery

Dog-darn it

Sunday 2 April 2023

The game is afoot

 tap hot \\ top hat

Something was afoot with the football,

Oh the football had turned into a hand

And the whole world was watching the tip of the toe

That balanced it like a magic wand

And we were caught red handed by the referee

We had been painting the penalty lines

But the linesman drew a box around the bandstand

And he kicked to death the Goalie in the sand

Then Women's football made a chalk outline of man

And paid tribute

On the same day every year

She left flowers on the pitch

the six foot tall bitch

Who showered her team mates

In good cheer

Submarine

Where do planes take off from?

They take off from airports

What is going from one place to another?

Travelling is going from one place to another

What is a means of water transport?

It is a submarine

A submarine

If you know what I mean

It is a submarine

Cry me, cry you

 Cry me with flowers

With hours of wasted love

Cry me with willows

Which sway

Cry me with your voice

Which breaks, gives way

Cry me, but cry you today

Cry me with ribbons

And Angels in towers

Cry me with Gibbons

Cry me with all your super powers

To move the Gibbous moon

But Cry you as too, so soon
